Using your Blogspot, Blogger, whatever...

Using Blogger is very similar to that of Squarespace...It isn't as pretty but it will work to match all of your branding and to add your web site address as a link

Here are the key places to look to make the change to Blogger:

***Just remember to 'apply to blog' after each change or it won't appear!***

Start within the dashboard to control the look of the blog :: click on the DESIGN tab | link

1) Change the template via blogger designer template link: (it is here that all the branding changes will take place!)

2) Change the background image or color if it will fit to your branding better by clicking on the background tab below the templates:

3) Customize the layout (how many columns you want and where):
Within this area you can control the layout and adjust the widths of the columns.

4) To really bring the branding out change the appearance of the text! Go through each area to customize the colors of the main type such as titles, links, post titles, blog entries, etc. Use the Kuler color numbers or log into your website and copy and paste the numbers over. I have noticed that Blogger shifts your colors a bit so you may have to adjust. My turquoise looked bright blue until I adjusted it.

5) In order to change the header to match your web site or simply place the web header from your website over here (I recommend a new one) click on the page elements tab at the top of the window:

Each of these elements can be clicked and dragged. They also have individual edit icons that allow you to place the information directly from the page elements tab. It will not control the look of the area but will add content. For example your 'about me' information and a link to your web site can go here! I would keep it very close in appearance to your web site, small changes!

6) You will add the banner | header image this way also. If you click on the edit link you can upload your banner. You can use the url like we did with the email signatures or upload an image.

7) Now go post your first blog post by clicking on the Posting tab at the top of the window. The interface is very simple to use and you can enter all the information like we do in Squarespace.
Optimized images like we do for our web site and the spell check is located at the top of the window! You can even control the HTML!
